INFO ON THE
POGRAMME
"European
Perspective" Development Humanitarian Education Centre,
Hellenic NGO will be implementing a Democracy and Human Rights
Programme titled:
"Promotion of Pluralism by strenghtening NGOs and the civil
society in Serbia" in
the next two years. The project is co-financed by the
EUROPEAN COMMISSION, European Initiative for Democracy and Human
Rights and will be implemented in Central (Kragujevac, Kraljevo,
Smederevska Palanka, Kucevo, Paracin), South (Nis, Pirot,
Leskovac), West (Uzice, Pozega) and East (Knjazevac) Serbia.
Duration of project is 24 months.
The
aim of the project is
to raise the capacity and the competence of the civic actors and
social groups active on local, regional and national levels in
Serbia and to assist them in order to have a constructive and
effective role during the phase of transition that the whole
country is going through.
The
target groups of the
projects are the main actors of the civil society, including NGOs,
local authorities and government, local and national media and the
general public.
The main activities will be: a) the training of 30
trainers, b) 152 awareness meetings, c) 52 workshops on issues
that will focus on the role of NGOs, partnership aspects among the
civic society actors, media participation and awareness and their
relation with NGOs d) the establishment of a data bank as well as
NGOs Resource Centres, e) the publication of the newsletter,
herewith the second issue is presented, in 3000 copies in 12
issues/editions of which the 1000 will be in English version. The
aim of this newsletter is
to give info on the project activities, other NGOs,
national and international, conferences, seminars and meetings,
publications and information material relevant to NGOs, articles
from experts on issues concerning enviroment, development, the
civil society, human rights, etc.
The
overall objective of the project is the promotion of pluralism by
strengthening NGOs and the civil society in Serbia. The project is
aiming at the capacity building of the organisations and
institutions of the Serbian civil society through seminars,
training and transfer of know how, expertise and techniques
concerning management skills, fundraising activities, etc. In
addition, through the training of trainers activity the project is
going to make an attempt towards a more professional organisation
and functioning of the institutions active within the civil
society. Through professionalism these institutions will acquire
internal structures capable to face external difficulties,
well-educated and experienced personnel as well the chance to
raise a stronger and clearer voice towards the solving of the
socio-political problems Serbia is facing.
Project
will be implemented by European Perspective and its network of 12
Serbian Non-Govermental Organisations which play a significant
role in the promotion of human rights, civic values and democratic
structures.
